Using the File Manager

Updated 1 month ago 7 views

The File Manager lets you upload and edit your website's files from the browser — no separate program needed.

Opening it

  1. Log in to your control panel.
  2. Open File Manager.

Your website's public files live in the public_html folder. Anything you put there is served on your domain.

Common tasks

  • Upload — click Upload, then drag files in or browse for them.
  • Create a folder — click New Folder.
  • Edit a file — select it and choose Edit (or Code Edit for HTML/PHP/CSS).
  • Move or copy — select a file and use Move / Copy.
  • Delete — select and choose Delete. Deleted files are usually not recoverable, so take care.

Uploading a whole website

If you have a .zip of your site, upload the zip into public_html, then select it and choose Extract. That is much faster than uploading files one at a time.

Large files

The browser uploader has a size limit. For very large files, use FTP instead — see Creating an FTP account.
